Horizons

Horizons

This scheme really does give you the best of both worlds: you’ll spend eight months gaining real-life experience with us, you’ll be paid an £18,000 pro-rata salary for your hard work (plus £500 to relocate to your base location in London), and you’ll have the time – and money – to travel before you start university. What’s more, if you show a real talent for consulting you could be offered sponsorship through your three-year university course - and more career-building opportunities besides.

What can I expect?

The eight-month scheme starts in September, with a comprehensive induction. This will introduce you to Accenture and explain in more detail what we do, how we help clients and why technology is at the centre of our business. It will also give you practical skills that will prepare you for your project.

After this, it’s straight to the front-line, where you’ll get experience in our industry-leading Technology platform, working with clients in up to three industry sectors. There’s a lot to take in but we’ll make sure you have the tools to make the most of your time with us. Such as a ‘buddy’ who can give you help when and where you need it. And two formal evaluations so that you know how well you’re doing.

The next stage

The opportunities don’t have to end when the scheme finishes in May. Horizons now offers something even more impressive that continues along with your university career. If you make an impression, you could be given a place on our structured three-year development programme that gives you training and financial support while you’re at university.

So, after your initial eight months with us, you could go on to receive three years of soft skills training and mentor support alongside your degree course, as well as £3,000 towards your tuition fees. There’s also the possibility of a place on our Summer Vacation Scheme, which will give you access to a potential place on our graduate scheme too.

Do I qualify?

You are an upper sixth-former with a genuine interest in business and technology. In addition, you’re predicted to get 340 or more UCAS points at A-level or equivalent (or five Bs in Scottish Highers). You have a mature and confident approach and you’re prepared to live wherever in the UK your project is located. If we assign you to a project outside London we’ll arrange your accommodation for you - usually in a flat or hotel with other people on your project. However, you’ll still need to organise your own accommodation base in London (which your relocation money will help you with).

What is the recruitment process?

The selection process starts when you submit your application form. If successful, we’ll arrange a telephone interview. If your answers here show us you’ll be a good fit for the Horizons Scheme, you’ll be asked to come to an assessment centre. Succeed here and you’ll be offered a place on the scheme.
