Teach First

Teach First

Spending two years teaching in a school will prepare you for anything that a career at Accenture can throw at you.

About the scheme

This is an opportunity to have a fantastic leadership experience prior to joining Accenture. You’ll spend two years after graduation working in a secondary school with challenging circumstances on the Teach First scheme. During those two years, you could also apply to the Accenture Teach First summer scheme, after which you could be offered a place on our analyst training programme. Alternatively, you could apply to us beforehand and then defer your start date for two years while you are on Teach First.

It’s an incredible opportunity to give something back and inspire others at the start of you career. At the same time, you’ll enhance your own skills immeasurably, all the while knowing you have a career in consulting to look forward to.

Why choose Accenture Teach First?

There are huge benefits all round. Teach First and participating schools gain the enthusiasm and expertise of exceptionally skilled graduates. From your perspective (and ours), you’ll develop many of the skills you need to become a future leader of our business, such as improved communication, motivation, planning and problem-solving capabilities. During the two-year Teach First programme, we will provide continual support, in the form of a summer project, an Accenture mentor and additional training and events where appropriate.

Do I qualify?

To qualify, you need to interview successfully for Teach First before applying to Accenture.

Teach First requirements

Teach First looks for proven leaders and strong communicators who have the resources, resilience and self-awareness to be at their best in challenging situations. Teach First is not for the faint-hearted, so you must be someone who understands the consequences of their actions and does not shy away from responsibility.

Teach First accepts graduates of all disciplines, although around 40% of your degree must be aligned to a National Curriculum subject. You will need to have achieved a C or above in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English, gained 300 UCAS points and be on course for at least a 2:1 degree.

Accenture requirements

For our part, you’ll need to have applied to Teach First already and been accepted onto the scheme. You'll also need 340 UCAS points, an achieved or predicted 2:1 or equivalent and a strong record of extra-curricular achievement. (We do look at every application and consider extenuating circumstances.)

If you're through to our 2nd round interview stage, you will be able to specify your preference to join Teach First before you start Accenture.

If you’ve already completed Teach First

If you have already completed your two years’ training (or you’re currently taking part in the programme), you will be fast tracked through our application process. You’ll need to fill out the application form and then, if you’re successful, you’ll move straight to the assessment centre. We’ll also provide additional coaching and contact from the Accenture team throughout the recruitment process. To apply, click here
