Discover hints and tips for applying to our programmes.

Application Overview

Nearly all our student and graduate programmes follow the below stages, however, please do check the recruitment process for each individual programme when applying. You should only apply to one programme and location at any one time. You will need to wait six months before reapplying if you are unsuccessful.

1. Online application

Applications for most programmes open in the autumn. To apply, complete an online application form, which will take around 30 minutes. Please complete the form as fully as possible so that we can evaluate your profile effectively.

2. Discovery portal

If you are suitable for the role, you’ll be invited to our Discovery Portal. This is an interactive experience and takes about an hour, but there’s no time limit. You’ll receive a written feedback report within a few days, then your outcome will follow as soon as possible.

3. Assessment centre

If you’re successful at the Discovery Portal stage, you’ll be invited to one of our assessment centres where you’ll take part in a variety of activities designed to help us find out what your strengths are.

4. Technical interviews

For some of our programmes, the final stage will be one or two technical interviews with managers from the specialist area you have applied to work in. We’ll give you lots of advice before your interviews.

Hints and tips

Tip #1 Apply early 
We receive an extremely high volume of applications for our roles every year and applications may close earlier than anticipated. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.

 

Tip #2 Fill in your Application Form 
The application takes candidates approximately 30 minutes to complete.

 

Ensure you complete all aspects of the application: 

  • Check the information is accurate
  • Check that you’ve included your academia. If you’re still at university, include your university and predicted grade

 

Add as much information as possible. The information that you give helps us see whether you are a strong match for Accenture! 

  • Include your summer jobs and volunteering.
  • At Accenture we look for a wide range of skills. When answering your skills-based question, think carefully about your key strengths and skills and what you consider to be relevant to the role you are applying for. 

 

Tip #3 Online assessments 
Our online assessments are designed to evaluate your natural strengths and decision making but they are also a learning experience and a job preview. Please take the time to read all the information to get a really good insight into how Accenture might work with a client using new technology.

 

Tip #4 Virtual Assessment Centre 
We use strengths-based interviews so that we can learn more about what motivates you as well as situational judgement questions to understand how you tackle a problem. Listen carefully, ask your interviewer to repeat the question if you need clarification, take a deep breath and give your best answer!

 

Tip #5 Technical interview 
Be able to clearly articulate how you keep abreast of emerging technologies and be able to showcase any technical skills that you have learnt on your own, with emphasis on at least one programming language.

Our graduate programmes do not have an academic requirement, nor a degree classification. Please note that some graduate programmes may stipulate a degree discipline, so please do check individual programme requirements when applying. However, some of our apprenticeships do have academic requirements so please check the individual programme pages when applying.

We’re aware that mitigating circumstances such as a disability, a long-term health condition, illness or serious family problems may have prevented you from meeting certain academic criteria.

We will take genuine mitigating circumstances into account. You will have an opportunity to detail these on your application form in the final question, which allows you to detail special circumstances. By selecting ‘Other’, you will be offered a free text box to detail any information about your academics that you want us to consider.
