    What I Do

I joined Accenture as a graduate hire straight out of university, starting as an SAP analyst in the consulting workforce. I’m currently working on a project within the Energy industry, having joined the project while it was in the Danish post go live phase.

Given my education, I mainly specialize within the logistics area. Although challenging, it has been very rewarding and interesting to combine my rather “soft” engineering skills with technical knowledge. In practice, most of my tasks are somewhat cross functional and require collaboration and understanding across multiple areas. The type of work I carry out heavily depends on the type of the project and even the phase of the project. Among other things, this ensures no two working days are the same.

Other than my specific role as SAP analyst, I try to involve myself in alternative activities within Accenture. For instance, I am responsible for communication in the SAP SCM community as well, and joined forces with approximately ten fantastic colleagues in order to arrange this year’s Away Day.

    Day In My Life

“No two days are the same” has truly become a cliché. However, since in my job there is a requirement to work from various geographical locations, contacts change on a weekly basis, and the type of work heavily depends on the phase of the project, I can say that this is true for me.

A typical day begins at the client’s site. Primarily, my efforts are geared towards various change requests required by the client in order to fine tune the SAP deliverables to meet their needs. Doing so requires me to fully understand these needs, come up with a design, ensure that it is developed, and make certain a smooth implementation happens at the end. Looking ahead, the solution will be rolled out across the many global sites operated by the client, thus the future will – probably - provide opportunities and challenges abroad.

    Outside the Office

Although it’s not an obsession, I am hooked on a sporty and healthy lifestyle. Very recently, I started kite surfing, but I also love running and various team sports. I always enjoy a challenge, be it bungee jumping, parachuting, marathon running or whatever the next one might be. I have a passion for traveling, and of course love to spend time with family and friends.

    My Advice

A career at Accenture will offer you an incredibly steep learning curve – you’ll work alongside great colleagues and face challenging tasks every day, which will prompt you to stretch your limits and continuously build on top of your existing skill set. To those of you considering a career at Accenture, I can heartily recommend it. To improve your chances as a candidate, I’d recommend making yourself “attractive” through a bit of self-promotion, for instance by making contact with HR, attending some of the events arranged by the company, and passing by to say “hi” at the company stand at one of the career fairs. Best of luck, and who knows – one day I might be welcoming you as my new colleague.
