    What I Do

I am a consultant working in the Technology group in Accenture, with the majority of my projects based in Communications and High Tech clients. I have predominently worked in Business Analyst and Project Manager roles throughout my career in Accenture, which have covered anything from process improvement projects to defining project scope, risk and issue management, managing stakeholder communications and status reporting.

    Day In My Life

It’s difficult to say that there is a typical day in Accenture as there are contstantly new challenges to handle. Generally, I begin my day checking mails that I have received and replying to those that need to be actioned. I plan out my day and prioritise the actions that are most important for the day and week ahead. I have daily meetings with the client to ensure that I have all of the information that I require and also to ensure that the client is kept up to date on the progress. The remainder of my time is spent on updating project plans, completing status reports and ensuring that all documentation is kept up to date.

    Outside the Office

Accenture has a vast array of clubs and societies including a Cumman Gaelach society, Dublin Charity society, photography club, tennis club, soccer club, GAA club and multisport club which encompasses running, cycling, swimming, triathlon, adventure racing etc. I am a member of both the golf society and the ladies football team.
The golf society provides you with the opportunity to take part in golfing lessons and to participate in golfing outings in some of Ireland’s most prestigious golf courses throughout the year.
The ladies football team is a good way to meet people from other project in Accenture while boosting your competitive team spirit! I began playing badminton in my early teens and have found an excellent club in Dublin which has helped me to rediscover my enthusiasm for the sport.

    My Advice

The best advice to applicants is to have an open mind. With an open mind, you will make the best of the myriad opportunities that Accenture has to offer both professional and personally. With an open mind, you will be able to work more effectively with the people in Accenture and the client due to the dynamic nature of the work and environment. Lastly, by having an open mind, you will be resourceful and innovative in tackling daily assignments, as well as with the long-term challenges in your career with Accenture.
