If you have procurement skills, Accenture has two main career paths for you, depending on the work experience you would like.

Internal roles as part of Accenture’s Procurement organization

One career path would be to join Accenture’s internal Procurement function, part of the dedicated internal corporate functions organization that manages and operates the Accenture business and supports our client-facing professionals, outsourcing units and other businesses.

Contract management teams work closely with Accenture’s operating and capability groups to obtain good commercial arrangements. You may review and counsel on new offerings, support Accenture’s alliances and business process outsourcing services, develop package knowledge and ensure contract agreements are upheld.

Procurement Roles in Accenture’s Outsourcing Business

A second option would be to join the dedicated team of people that works on outsourcing engagements. These engagements are long-term partnerships with clients for whom we manage and provide increasingly specialized business operations, such as finance and accounting, IT, applications development and maintenance, help desk services, HR and procurement. More and more companies are outsourcing procurement as it is a non-core function but one that has a significant effort on the bottom line.

Because of our size and scale, Accenture can help clients streamline the time-consuming business of managing outside suppliers, sourcing better products and services at reduced costs and connecting with a larger base of suppliers. You might be involved in building systems to make the whole procurement process simple and use preferred suppliers. Alternatively, you might be involved in monitoring supplier performance and managing procurement contracts to achieve significant savings for our clients.
