I am a management consultant with the Finance and Performance Management Service Line. As an Accenture executive, I am required to deliver on Accenture’s three leadership contribution areas: Value Creator, Business Operator and People Developer. Using these three metrics, my key responsibilities are delivery, building relationships by creating network to drive sell and aid delivery; developing and growing skills of others through knowledge transfer and active coaching. At client site, my main focus is how work with client key stakeholders to identify their business challenges, define practicable solutions to help them resolve those issues and become high performance businesses at same time try to deliver the project financials at required margin. I interact with client executive, middle and lower management as part of relationship building strategy and engage them not only at official engagements and when I need something from them but frequently to build a stronger relationship.

This depends on whether I am at client site or at Accenture office. At client site I start my day by reviewing the day’s plan as jotted in my diary and the project calendar to remind myself of the day’s activities. Then I will ask my project team if there is any risk/ issue that require my attention. I attend to issues first then review risks to ensure appropriate actions are taken then I will continue with the day’s schedule. In the Accenture office, I also start my day by reviewing the day’s plan. Most of the key activities that I do in the Accenture office are routine in nature and they include: business development, personal development (e.g. CBTs, classroom training, review of deliverables, use of library etc), attending meetings, brainstorming, coaching.

Unfortunately I am not staying with my family in Lagos and this has greatly affected my ability to define my hobbies while I am in Lagos. I hate traffic that is why I hate going out at weekends. I love fishing even though I don’t know how to swim. Sometimes I used to go to waterside at Lekki Phase 1 or Ahmadu Bello Way in Lagos just to watch people fishing. Occasionally I would do some fishing myself. However, whenever, I travel for weekends to see my family, I love to sit with them, joke, play and then take them out. My family is rather large and I love visiting my family members, friends and other relatives. It’s really fun.
