I am part of the Consulting workforce and currently I am part of a team that designs and implements a new Integration solution based on SOA concept and Oracle technology. Our team is part of a bigger project that includes upgrades to CRM, SRM and other IT systems for a big Telecom company.

I would say that it is quite hard to define a “typical” day in Accenture over a great time span. This is highly changeable depending on the projects stage, on assignments and even if you are in home country or abroad. A typical day might involve anything from “soft” tasks like meetings with the client, coordinating the development team and preparing reports to the more “hands on” tasks like designing and running tests for our solution and solving defects.

Unfortunately there is not much free time associated with a consultant’s work but with time one learns to micromanage his/hers “off” time in order to do as many activities as possible. I enjoy discovering new places and traveling for work helps in this aspect as well. Also I like climbing mountains and riding my motorcycle in long touring trips.

After three years since my enrolment in Accenture, I still think I made the right choice at that time. Especially if you like to be around intelligent and nice people and you like to work in a fair, non-discriminating environment, you should consider trying for a position within Accenture.
